Onalaska, WI - Are you currently enrolled in a certificate program or working towards your undergraduate or graduate degree? Thanks to money raised through ticket sales from the Altra Rocks concert series at Copeland Events Center, the Altra Foundation created the Altra Rocks scholarships. To qualify for the Altra Rocks Scholarship, presented by the Altra Foundation, applicants must: Altra Federal Credit Union Members located in Wisconsin or Minnesota Age 18 or older Be currently enrolled in one of the following: Certificate Program Two- or Four-Year US College (Undergraduate) Graduate Program (Masters, Doctoral) Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA Currently facing financial hardship or demonstrate a financial need* Complete the scholarship application Financial hardship is defined as a student experiencing difficulty paying tuition and fees, usually due to a change in their financial situation. Financial need is defined as the difference between the cost of attendance and your ability to pay tuition and fees, after scholarships and grants have been applied, or have a household income of less than $50,000. Scholarship details can be found at www.altrafoundation.org starting October 1, 2023. The scholarship period will run October 1, 2023 through October 31, 2023. All submissions will be reviewed by a scholarship board in November 2023. “We saw a need in our community that we wanted to help fill. It can be hard finding scholarships for students that are in a certificate program or returning to school,” says Danielle Anderson, Altra Foundation Scholarship Coordinator. “Offering scholarships to these students have been a vision for years, and partnering with the Copeland Events Center was a great way to help this come to fruition!” The Altra Foundation is dedicated to providing financial wellness opportunities for youth and adults in the communities they serve. The Foundation’s definition of financial wellness is having the knowledge and skills to develop financial goals, budget, manage debt, invest, and maintain good credit.
