Five credit unions in the Brainerd Lakes Area, also known as the Financial Fraud Fighters, came together to host a booth at the largest county fair in Minnesota the Crow Wing County Fair. For five days from 10am-10pm credit union staff from Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, Brainerd BN Credit Union, Crow Wing Power Credit Union, Members Cooperative Credit Union, and Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union worked side by side to raise awareness of recent scams, how to protect yourself and what to do if you are a victim. The also offered a chance to win fraud protection items including a personal shredder, RFID purse and wallet, and small safe. One of the Financial Fraud Fighters goals was to show that credit unions work together for the benefit of the community.
