ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Credit Union Network’s (MnCUN) Political Involvement Committee recently voted to endorse Representative Tom Emmer in the 6th Congressional District race. “During his tenure in Congress broadly, and on the House Financial Services Committee more specifically, Congressman Emmer has continually demonstrated his support for credit unions and safeguarding their ability to serve their members and communities,” said MnCUN Chief Advocacy Officer Mara Humphrey. “We fully support his reelection efforts and encourage all credit union advocates in the 6th District to vote for him.” “Credit unions offer consumers and small businesses a great choice for local, Main Street-focused financial services,” said Emmer. “I’m proud to have the support of the Minnesota Credit Union Network and will continue to work for a fair marketplace so that credit unions can grow.” MnCUN is the statewide organization that represents the needs and interests of credit unions in Minnesota. The Political Involvement Committee provides input and recommendations on legislative efforts at the state and federal level. The Minnesota Credit Union Network is the statewide trade association that works to ensure the success, growth, and vitality of Minnesota credit unions. With nearly $27 billion in assets, Minnesota credit unions are local, trusted financial cooperatives that serve almost 1.9 million members at around 400 branch locations around the state. As not-for-profit institutions, credit unions give back to the communities they serve. For more information, visit mncun.org.
