Wings Financial Credit Union – ST. PAUL, Minn. – St. Thomas Athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, Tommie Sports Properties, announced today it has entered into a multi-year agreement with Wings Financial Credit Union as the exclusive banking partner of St. Thomas Athletics. This integrated partnership will allow Wings Financial to serve as a lead sponsor in providing the opportunity to engage on a variety of programming across all 21 Tommie sports. “We are excited to partner with Wings Financial as the official banking partner of Tommie Athletics”, said Vice President, Director of athletics Dr. Phil Esten. “Wings is fully committed to the future of St. Thomas Athletics and the comprehensive student-athlete experience. This partnership will allow us to continue our exciting transition to Division I athletics through further investments in enhanced fan experience programming, student and alumni engagement and community involvement.” The Wings partnership will include a Tommies co-branded debit card, financial literacy programs for student athletes and integration into the Tommie Game Day experience. Additionally, Wings will provide annual support directly to the 1904 Club, a fund directly supporting the mission of St. Thomas athletics. “Wings is looking forward to our partnership with Tommie Athletics to support student athletes and the broader community through our nationally recognized financial products and great service while reinforcing our commitment to higher education,” said John Wagner, Senior Vice President – Member Experience. “We look forward to engaging with students and the entire team at Tommie Athletics at many games and special events while having some fun at the same time. We’ll be developing programs unique to the St. Thomas community we hope students will find valuable.” Wings Financial teamed up with Minnesota-based sports marketing firm - The Sports Consulting Team - to finalize the partnership. Wings and Tommie Athletics will kick off the new partnership at the Inaugural Purple Party presented by Wings Financial Credit Union on May 23rd at 7 Vines Vineyard.
