Falcon Heights, MN – Blaze Credit Union’s associates spread kindness throughout the day on Monday, October 14, as part of CU Forward Day, a statewide day of service for Minnesota credit unions and the Minnesota Credit Union Network (MnCUN). Over 100 Blaze associates volunteered during the day, providing 190+ hours of volunteer work at five different Blaze non-profit partners. Associates helped package snacks and hygiene kits at Amherst H. Wilder Foundation, prepared meals and helped in the kitchen at Open Arms Minnesota, helped prepare event packets for Girls on the Run Minnesota 5K and sorted and packed food at Second Harvest Heartland and at Every Meal. “The credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’ is demonstrated by the strong commitment our associates have in giving back,” said Blaze CEO Dan Stoltz. “We hear wonderful and emotional stories from the organizations that we’ve long supported about how much they value and appreciate groups like ours that emphasize giving back, making an impact and helping them improve the lives of those they serve.” MnCUN’s CU Forward Day is a day dedicated to community service projects and volunteer opportunities that will benefit Minnesotans. Blaze was one of 58 credit unions and partners across the state to participate in large group volunteer projects.
