United Educators Credit Union - MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - United Educators Foundation is proud to announce the 2021 recipients of its annual academic scholarship awards. Congratulations to each of our winners - we had so many amazing applications once again this year! Michelle Mills of Farmington has been awarded the $2,000 Educator Scholarship. Michelle is an Educator at Farmington Area Schools in the Community Education Wee Tigers Preschool and ECFE Program. She is currently attending Concordia University in St. Paul, working to extend her current teaching licensure from Birth - Pre-K to Birth - 3rd Grade. Amanda Mathison of Hopkins received the $1,500 Education Major Scholarship Award. Amanda is currently attending the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and studying to achieve a Major in Early Childhood Education with a Minor in Spanish Studies. She is also enrolled in the Honors Program at the U of M. Three high school seniors received $1,000 scholarships: Isabel Medrano of St. Paul, graduating from St. Paul Academy and Summit School Jenna Nyblom of Lakeville, graduating from Apple Valley High School Chelsea Stoner of Inver Grove Heights, graduating from Rosemount High School Good luck to our five awards recipients in their education and future endeavors. Thanks to all who applied for this year’s awards! Applications are released each fall for our Financial Literacy Grant and Scholarship programs. The United Educators Foundation Scholarship Award program, held annually, is open to United Educators Credit Union members, their families, and those pursuing degrees in education. Collectively the foundation awarded $6,500 in scholarships this year. The 2021 Selection Committee members included: Dolly Buettner – United Educators Credit Union Member, Jordon Ford - UECU Supervisory Committee Member, Rodney Rowe - Education Minnesota Secretary-Treasurer, Ramona Springis-Doss, UECU Board Member and teacher at Eagan High School, and Andre Thibault, United Educators Credit Union – Senior Vice President of Marketing and Foundation Board Secretary. The United Educators Foundation was established in 2008 to generate and provide contributive funding and resources that advance educational initiatives and support charitable causes within the educational communities United Educators Credit Union cooperative serves. United Educators Credit Union was established in 1957, providing a full line of financial services to Minnesota's education community & their families; those who live, work, worship, go to school or do business in Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey or Washington Counties; those who support education through membership in the United Educators Foundation; as well as other select employee groups. The credit union currently operates branch locations in Apple Valley, Coon Rapids, and Minnetonka.
