FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – Blaze Credit Union's AVP of Strategic Partnerships, Bridget Petersen, was recenlty appointed to the Cooperative Network's Board of Directors. “I have made a 30-plus year career with credit unions, and I feel incredibly fortunate for the opportunities afforded to me within the cooperative industry,” said Petersen. “I have been involved with the Cooperative Network for the past several years, having worked with young adults at their youth leadership conferences, meeting with legislators on Co-op Days at the Capitol, and attending Network events. I’m excited to become an official member of their Board.” The Cooperative Network is the only organization solely focused on advocating for cooperatives in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The nine-person board of directors helps guide future activities and priorities of the organization as representatives of the cooperative members throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Cooperative Network provides resources to members that will help them effectively grow and strengthen their cooperatives for future generations. In her role as AVP Strategic Partnerships for Blaze Credit Union, Petersen is instrumental in all mergers for Blaze Credit Union. She is currently working with the full integration team on the final stages of the mega-merger of Hiway and SPIRE Credit Unions, now rebranded as Blaze Credit Union. Petersen’s career has included 20 years in Human Resources and Training, Marketing, and Operations. She has a passion for giving back to the community through financial wellness efforts. Her work in this field has garnered numerous state and national Desjardins Financial Literacy awards. In recognition of her contributions to the credit union industry as a whole, Petersen was honored with the 2019 Credit Union Builder Award by the Minnesota Credit Union Network.
