Cloquet, Minn. - Northwoods Credit Union, member-owned and founded in 1936 is pleased to announce the following promotions. Janell Rewitzer has been promoted to Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. Janell, a Bemidji State University graduate, started at the credit union in 1999 as a Member Services Representative and has progressed to spend most of those years overseeing the Operations Department. Her new role will continue to oversee operations while also focusing on the strategic future of the credit union. Steve McConnell has been promoted to Senior Vice President/Chief Technology Officer. Steve is a Lake Superior College graduate with three degrees including Networking AAS, Computer Specialist AAS and Computer Programming as well as certifications in Microsoft and A+. Steve started at the credit union in 2010 as an IT specialist and progressed to Director of Technology, VP of Technology and Security to his current role. In his new position, Steve will continue to oversee the Technology Department while also focusing on the strategic future of the credit union. Amber Tobeck has been promoted to Director of Consumer Lending. Amber started at the credit union in 2012 as a Member Service Representative and was later promoted to Loan Officer. “Amber’s empathy and professionalism serve our members very well and we are lucky to have her as part of our team here at Northwoods,” says NCU VP of Lending, Michelle Bertogliat. Northwoods Credit Union was founded in 1936 by four paper mill employees to improve the financial lives of their coworkers. We have grown to four locations in Cloquet, Floodwood and Moose Lake and are open to membership of those that live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in Carlton, Pine or St Louis Counties.
