FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - Blaze Credit Union’s Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer, Brian White, has been invited to be a guest instructor at the well-regarded Stetson-Hatcher School of Business at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia on Thursday, April 18. A highly respected veteran in the information services and technology field, White will speak to junior and senior business students in two Management Information Systems (MIS) classes. “I was honored to receive an invitation to speak to up-and-coming business and IT leaders at a university, especially one with the reputation of Mercer,” said White. “The IT world is always moving, and change happens quickly. I hope that being able to share my experiences provides these students with a better understanding of what the world outside the classroom looks like, and how MIS touches all areas of a business.” White will share his firsthand experiences using MIS to improve businesses’ competitive positions and to provide high levels of customer service. In addition, he will share his experiences with the financial service industry’s best practices in cybersecurity and business continuity, along with the impact of Artificial intelligence (AI) on the business world, particularly financial services providers. White’s career in IT spans nearly three and a half decades, and he’s spent the last 27 years in the financial services industry. In 2007, he joined St. Paul-based Hiway Credit Union as the organization’s IT Manager, Systems and Infrastructure. In 2013, White was promoted to Hiway’s CIO/SVP of Information Services and Technology, and, upon Hiway’s merger with SPIRE Credit Union in January 2024, he was named SVP/Chief Information Officer overseeing the IT team for the newly formed Blaze Credit Union. During his time with Hiway, White oversaw the credit union’s migration to the industry leading DNA core platform, and is currently leading a number of critical merger-related projects for Blaze.
