Volkmann Earns Promotion at Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union

Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union - ST. PAUL, Minn. (Sept. 22, 2020) - – Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union (Affinity Plus) is pleased to announce the promotion of Jessica Volkmann to Vice President of Compliance & Operations. Volkmann has spent more than 16 years at Affinity Plus and was previously the Director of Compliance & Operations.

“For over a decade, Jessica has successfully developed and led our Compliance, Operations and Vendor thumbnail_jessica - headshot - no pinManagement departments. She approaches her role with a drive and an attitude to identify what is possible, not what we must avoid,” said Bill Urick, Chief Operating Officer, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. “Jessica has displayed an ability to develop a vision and strategy for our Compliance and Operations areas, and then is able to turn this into actions and demonstrated results. Her knowledge of the regulatory environment that we operate within has allowed her to make significant impacts that have improved the performance of the organization, all while expanding our ability to successfully serve our members.”

Affinity Plus continues to experience record growth and as a result, needed to continue to evolve and innovate the areas of Compliance, Operations and Vendor Management to ensure it meets and exceeds the growing expectations of members.

Volkmann joined Affinity Plus back in 2004. She started as a Financial Services Officer and eventually became the Assistant Manager, and then Branch Manager. Volkmann started overseeing regulatory Compliance in 2009. She has successfully developed and provided excellent leadership to the Compliance, Operations and Vendor Management departments. Additionally, she also oversees:

• BSA/AML Compliance Program
• Operations Department
• Document Management Department
• Vendor Management Departments
• Physical Security Program
• Internal Audit Program

In addition to effectively leading these teams, Volkmann has created strong working relationships with leaders and employees across the organization. Both her technical expertise and leadership presence is leveraged by many. Volkmann has also been successful in developing critical relationships with both the NCUA and the Supervisory Committee over the past several years.

“I think when we say “Banking is what we do, people is who we are” that this embodies why I love working at Affinity Plus,” said Volkmann. “I am incredibly passionate about our member’s experience with Affinity Plus. I believe all people deserve an advocate and partner in their financial institution as well as receiving care and compassion from every employee they interact with. I am thrilled to be able to support the organization through this role as I believe we have so much opportunity to continue to help our members, especially during these uncertain times.”

In her free time, Volkmann enjoys being an advocate for Special Olympics. She also is a member of the Regulatory Review Committee at the Credit Union Network.
