BURNSVILLE, MN – In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Firefly Credit Union launched a variety of financial resources available to members, including an Emergency Relief Loan and Loan Payment Relief. Throughout the pandemic, Firefly has assisted members through periods of lost or reduced income by creating a new Emergency Relief Loan. Since its launch in March, 110 members have utilized the Emergency Relief Loan, for a total loan value of over $275,000. Firefly also offers Loan Payment Relief to its members in need. Throughout the pandemic, there have been over 1,450 new loan extension agreements. Members also found relief with over 250 credit card extensions and 108 extensions on line of credits. To give back to the community during the pandemic, Firefly made several charitable donations, including a tablet donation to Fairview Medical Center, and lunch donations to frontline staff at several local hospitals. “We are in the midst of uncertain times, with many people facing financial hardships as a result of COVID-19 and the impact it has had on the economy,” said Dale Turner, President/CEO. “Firefly is doing what we can to provide support to individuals that are impacted by the pandemic.” ### Firefly Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative lighting the way forward for the Greater Twin Cities CommunitySM.
