St. Cloud Times - As approximately one in every five St. Cloud Financial Credit Union members owns virtual currency, like Bitcoin, state Rep. Bernie Perryman, R-St. Augusta, hopes to bring further protections and storage opportunities for cryptocurrency holders. Perryman's bill to allow Minnesota banks and credit unions the opportunity to store customers' virtual currency passed the House Commerce Finance and Policy Committee on Tuesday, March 3. The bill comes after there's been a need for such services in the St. Cloud area, Perryman told the St. Cloud Times in an interview. "It basically is giving an avenue, which St. Cloud Financial Credit Union has had requests several times (from its) customer base, to store crypto," Perryman said.
