WATERLOO, Iowa (December 2, 2025) – Veridian Credit Union has awarded $50,000 in Giving Tuesday donations to organizations across Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota. Recipient organizations were nominated by the public for the credit union’s Veridian Gives Back for Giving Tuesday campaign and drawn at random to receive the donations. Eligible organizations work to address one of Veridian’s five funding priorities, including (1) affordable housing, (2) basic human needs, (3) inclusion, (4) employment readiness and (5) financial literacy. To help ensure equal opportunity between large and small nonprofit organizations, each nominated organization received one entry for the drawing regardless of the number of times it was nominated. “Veridian was founded on the need to support our communities and the people in them,” said Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer. “We celebrate Giving Tuesday because it’s an opportunity for us to encourage and inspire each other to strengthen the communities we share.” One organization in each of the credit union’s five market areas received $10,000. Recipients in each market area include: Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) – Waterloo, Iowa Mission of Hope – Cedar Rapids, Iowa Dorothy’s House – Des Moines, Iowa Least of My Brethren – Papillion, Neb. ICA Food Shelf – Minnetonka, Minn. Details are available at veridiancu.org/GivingTuesday.
