Falcon Heights, MN – Blaze Credit Union is pleased to announce a new partnership with Minnesota native and Minnesota Wild defenseman, Brock Faber. "I'm excited to partner with Blaze, a Minnesota-based organization that shares my commitment to the community. As someone proud of my Minnesota roots, it's important to work with local businesses that support our neighborhoods. Together, we can empower individuals to achieve their financial goals and make a positive impact in our great state,” said Faber. Originally a second round (No. 45) pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2020 NHL Draft, Faber played three seasons for the University of Minnesota serving as team captain, helping lead the team to the 2023 NCAA championship game. Faber came back to the state of hockey to play for the Wild after a June 2022 trade with the LA Kings. Less than a year later, he signed a three-year, entry-level contract and joined the Wild roster for the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He scored his first NHL goal in Minnesota's 2-0 win against the Florida Panthers on home ice at Xcel Energy Center on Oct. 12, 2023. Among 2023-24 rookies, Faber ranked first in blocked shots (150), tied for first in assists (39), third in power-play assists (13), third in power-play points (16), tied for sixth in power-play goals (three) and eighth in shots on goal (136). Faber was runner-up for the 2024 Calder Trophy given to the NHL rookie of the year. Growing up in Maple Grove, Faber is deeply tied to his family and Minnesota. “Brock is truly living his dream, playing for his home team while using his time to make an impact in his community. This is exactly why we wanted to work with him. He makes Minnesota proud and truly cares about helping others,” said Blaze CEO Dan Stoltz. Earlier this year, the Minnesota Wild signed Faber to an eight-year contract extension keeping him with the team through 2033. Stolz added, “Brock is one of us, he’s a Minnesotan who understands and appreciates hard work, dedication and commitment.” The partnership will begin this Fall with Faber serving as a brand ambassador for Minnesota-based Blaze Credit Union.
