SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Last week, in celebration of Financial Well-being Month in April, the WINcentive Savings Program awarded six additional prizes as part of its quarterly drawing. The Minnesota statewide prize pool for the quarter included five $1,000 quarterly prizes, and 50 $100 monthly prizes, and an additional six $1,000 prizes to celebrate the month’s initiative. 11 credit union members from Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, First Alliance Credit Union, Hiway Credit Union, Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union, North Star Credit Union, Two Harbors Federal Credit Union, and West Metro Schools Credit Union were among the winners of the programs April prize drawing. Two Harbors Federal Credit Union surprised their member winner in the branch with a celebration, including a check presentation with credit union leadership, staff and the member’s family. North Star Credit Union had two lucky $1,000 winners and surprised both members in their respective credit union branches in Cook and Nashwauk. “WINcentive Savings is an example of how credit unions promote the financial well-being of their members,” said John Ferstl, Chief Operating Officer of the Minnesota Credit Union Network. “WINcentive accounts makes savings easy and fun.” Participating members of all 21 Minnesota-based credit unions offering WINcentive were eligible for the monthly and quarterly statewide prizes for through quarter one of 2022. Each credit union is also guaranteed to have one $100 winner each quarter. As of March 2022, over 8,500 members of credit unions in Minnesota have saved a total of roughly $12 million in WINcentive savings accounts throughout the state. WINcentive Savings incentivizes consumers in to save by offering risk-free rewards. WINcentive prizes are awarded on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, with prizes ranging from $100 to $5,000. Account holders in Minnesota qualify for up to four chances per month for each $25 increase in their month over month savings balance. The Minnesota Credit Union Network and its wholly-owned subsidiary, TruLync, also administer prize-linked savings programs for credit unions in Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Montana, New York, New Jersey, Ohio and Wisconsin.
